In this TEDxMidAtlantic, neuroscientist Rachel Wurzman links substance abuse and addiction to loneliness. Wurzman states, "Social isolation leads to relapse. Studies show that people who tend to avoid relapse tend to people who have broad, reciprocal social relationships where they can be of service to each other, where they can be helpful."
Some identifiable solutions are active participation in recovery groups, social engagement and connecting with a community. Here at Recovery Artist Network, we are dedicated to supporting recovery. By developing a network of artists and creating a space to come together, we hope to provide a community where those in recovery can feel safe to get involved and share about their experiences.
